Retail traders always tend to decide on the partial information they get on various platforms. He is another such discussion going on on social media about Ambani family acquiring Reliance Industries stocks through bulk and block deals. Look at this screenshot being widely circulated on Twitter and telegram channels:<br />

It is obvious to get tempted to buy such stocks where the promoters themselves buy the stock.<br />
<br />
Hold on, let us find out who is selling the stock? Here is another screenshot from <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/stock-share-price/reliance-industries-ltd/reliance/500325/bulk-block-deals/" target="_blank">BSE website</a>.<br />

It is always better to do our own studies before buying the stocks. We don't even know whether Porinju's PMS still holds the stock or sold it when the retail investor started buying it. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi337xY_FeXTXc65r1ROxdfx28O4XP9SwLC2pdJnjiZKV8vjBfeE_8Imnk32eD1Kr_GnQXyj3VKrmvULldMSWIujSqwHh0w92XZ697NRvruRQHIGDy4sCS4eiHDr0mdIjAq0UvYLQaskJ71/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="225" data-original-width="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi337xY_FeXTXc65r1ROxdfx28O4XP9SwLC2pdJnjiZKV8vjBfeE_8Imnk32eD1Kr_GnQXyj3VKrmvULldMSWIujSqwHh0w92XZ697NRvruRQHIGDy4sCS4eiHDr0mdIjAq0UvYLQaskJ71/s1600/images.jpg" /></a>Each and every business has its own pros and cons. Every businessman will undergo ups and downs. Super market owner makes loss with some expired products. Same as the medical shop owner. Grains rot due to moisture and farmers are at loss. Even a contractor of realty sector incur loss when the price of raw materials shoot up due to unexpected lorry strike. Now it's clear that only by taking risks of loss one can enjoy profit.<br />
<br />
It is not always true that we loose money in share market. Unless others mentioned above, we can use stop loss strategy to reduce our loss. How? Let me explain... after proper analysis we have decided to buy stocks of Company A at value buying price. After confirming that we are not moved by the factor of F.O.M.O. - fear of missing out. Even after all these, if stock price of company A started to fall we can sell the stocks when it reaches the predetermined price called stop loss. Our loss is limited to the extent we are ready lose.<br />
<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
How to determine stoploss price?</h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjwjP9cL5-LpV11XD2T47EuK95goPOVB3GRhmGti0Ul8fNMnYi78h_-r0WwgleUhwCWySSOf21QCBbGDD3-qWUHQrV0xjhyphenhyphenqNSyBlscA9jfVl5Fh6AhowmdAvOHXhIwQ_HO_bbp7dA8r4P/s1600/stop-loss-trading.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="519" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjwjP9cL5-LpV11XD2T47EuK95goPOVB3GRhmGti0Ul8fNMnYi78h_-r0WwgleUhwCWySSOf21QCBbGDD3-qWUHQrV0xjhyphenhyphenqNSyBlscA9jfVl5Fh6AhowmdAvOHXhIwQ_HO_bbp7dA8r4P/s320/stop-loss-trading.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
We decide/calculate a price at which we should buy that particular stock. Right? - it's called value buying. The stock also has the support price at which it has a strong support level. If the stock come below that support price it is considered as start of negative movement of the stock. Some people also keep 5% or 10% of the stock buying price as stop loss based on their trading strategies. This is how we decide the loss range and exit the game when we reach that price of stop loss.<br />
Stop loss is very important to limit the loss in stock market</div>

No other vehicles including Nano come into my mind when some one says the name Tata Motors. That is the legacy of Tata Indica. That is also the tragedy of Tata Motors. They did not have any other cars to offer. They utterly failed to understand the changing mindset of the Indian customers, when the other car makers were launching hundreds of new vehicles. This was not just the story of Tata cars, they did not do well also in commercial and passenger vehicle segments. </div>

The gaps in the technical charts are formed when the price of the stock jumps up or down without the trading activity in between. So there could be two types of gaps in the chart.<br />
<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
Gap up:</h4>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Consider a stock which has made a high of 110 yesterday and closed at 105. The stock opened today at 130 and and made a low of 125. There is no trading activity at the prices 105 to 125. This gap is called as Gap-up.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Gap up in Jubilant Food Works on 16 Aug 2017</td></tr>

<br /><h4 style="text-align: left;">
Gap Down:</h4>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Consider a stock which has made a low of 100 yesterday and closed at 105. The stock opened today at 80 and and made a high of 90. There is no trading activity at the prices 90 to 100. This gap is called as Gap-down.<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The gaps forms when the traders or investors placed the orders at before opening of the market and moved the stock price accordingly. The sentiments continues through out the day to keep the stock price at that level up or down from yesterday's high or low and the gap remains. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The gap ups are considered to be bullish and gap down are considered to be bearish. When the gap is formed along the trend the traders take a position along the trend. The investors uses the gap up position in the direction of upward trend along with the high volumes of delivery to know the further upward movement to invest in the stock. </div>

How the demerger the business unlocks the value of the company?</h4>
<div>
Many companies do business in different industries. The value of the company should be sum of all the business in different together. It is not true in many cases. Some of the business could be making profits and some might be in loss. The loss making business could be eating the profit made by the other business. The negative trend in one of the industry could be affecting the valuation of the entire company without taking into consideration of the other business. The debt, ratings business potentials could be actually valued only when the business in different industries are analysed differently. In normal course the demerger could benefit the investors. It could also backfire if the demerger is just the gimmick to increase the valuation. </div>
<div>
<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
When will be CESC demerged and get listed?</h4>
CESC has announced the date for demerger as 1st October 2017. The listing of the demerged companies likely to happen in the last quarter of this financial year, most probably by January 2018.<br />

The report says "<i>The demerger into four separate businesses would drive value by unlocking the potential of the distribution and retail businesses. Distribution business valuation will get re-rated on reduced volatility in earnings, and thus, its cost of equity. Spencer too will command better valuation after expected turnaround in FY18</i>." The report also high lighted the potential risks with the loss making subsidiaries and declined sales growth in the retail business. </div>

Imagine you are waiting for a bus. The public transport is available every 10 minutes to your destination. It is already 15 minutes passed. Finally a packed bus arrived with a last passenger could be able to put only one of his leg in the bus.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbhWDxh_bzG5A-of3-P3BEMlDE7huWy6SVmrZVqrbmCAv8xXvDj3bKpDdGlyC3SELPIAeSSNTcCCJPtkasDpCRpTBVPJ6Q8RHnP3vTWrl60Knz_r8-wa6GkmQaGcs52DeUejP4h0tDGQOa/s1600/bus.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="346" data-original-width="1177" height="116" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbhWDxh_bzG5A-of3-P3BEMlDE7huWy6SVmrZVqrbmCAv8xXvDj3bKpDdGlyC3SELPIAeSSNTcCCJPtkasDpCRpTBVPJ6Q8RHnP3vTWrl60Knz_r8-wa6GkmQaGcs52DeUejP4h0tDGQOa/s400/bus.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Your F.O.M.O. the fear of missing out factor triggers you to catch that bus. The fully packed bus starts moving slower than its usual speed. And then… an empty bus over takes your bus. Your fear of missing out made you miss an opportunity to reach the destination faster and comfortable.<br />
<br />
The same happens in the stock market. A stock moves up and up making new 52 week highs every day. You are observing the trend since many days. You waited for correction which never happened since you started waiting. One fine day you decide to buy that stock at its peak just not to miss the future rally of the stock you dreamed of. You know the price you are paying is not<a href="http://www.akshaybhagwat.com/2017/08/understanding-value-buying.html" target="_blank"> value buying</a>, but you buy it purely due to your fear of missing out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtPCKTE6p-MDGuS-uuaiM3ejTBIyhqGYsX3Ywa_K8WsNC-Q-vNGWuVFaSW3MjuQ_D_8cno82jCCY_597ZMcQGSNdzB-y1dwQxvGnGUkUP9aWHiTnJSEBYrRhycqkZ4X8fdAMzZHB_fspY/s1600/FOMO+stock+buying.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="385" data-original-width="754" height="203" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtPCKTE6p-MDGuS-uuaiM3ejTBIyhqGYsX3Ywa_K8WsNC-Q-vNGWuVFaSW3MjuQ_D_8cno82jCCY_597ZMcQGSNdzB-y1dwQxvGnGUkUP9aWHiTnJSEBYrRhycqkZ4X8fdAMzZHB_fspY/s400/FOMO+stock+buying.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
What happens next? The stock price starts to correct. It comes to a price at which you thought of buying it. Your fear of missing out made you buy it at a price it does not deserve.<br />
<br />
You may ask what if the stock price never corrected. One should always be ready to miss out the rally if the stock is not available at the right price. You may miss few stocks but it pays back by giving many opportunities to do value buying of the stocks. </div>

I have already written an article on <a href="http://www.akshaybhagwat.com/2017/08/how-to-check-aadhar-bank-account-number.html">how to know the status of Aadhar and bank account linking status on UIDAI website</a>. The status can also be checked using USSD.<br />
<br />
What is USSD?<br />
(If you are not fond of jargons directly skip to next paragraph.) USSD which stands for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data is a Global System for Mobile(GSM) communication technology that is used to send text between a mobile phone and an application program in the network.<br />
<br />
Let me simplify. It is nothing but sending a text message and receiving the answer from the service provider in text format. The prepaid balance enquiry you do on your mobile by calling a number starting with * and ending with # (like *123#) is the best example.<br />
<br />
Is knowing the status of linking of Aadhar and bank account as easy as knowing your prepaid mobile balance? Yes, of course.<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Open the phone option or home screen and type *99*99# and press call button<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There are several ways to link your bank account to your Aadhar. You can link it through internet banking, by sending an SMS, at ATMs or finally visiting the bank branches. Many account holders do not know how to verify whether their bank account is linked to the Aadhar or not. They often visit the banks or call the customer care to know the status of their request to link Aadhar with the bank account.<br />
<br />
If you have multiple bank accounts and linked your Aadhar to these various bank accounts, the money sent through the Aadhar payment systems will get credited to the account to which the Aadhar is linked recently. Identifying such account to which Aadhar is linked recently will make the job easy.<br />
<br />
So how to know the Aadhar- bank account linking status on UIDAI website? It is very easy and involves just 4 steps. Alternatively you can also check this <a href="http://www.akshaybhagwat.com/2017/08/Adhar-Bank-Account-linkage-status-on-mobile.html" target="_blank">status on your mobile using USSD</a>.<br />

Let us assume the share market as vegetable market to understand the process of buying stock in a simple way. We enter the vegetable market same as share market. Some sellers we know personally and some we have never met. Based on our previous experience at the vegetable market we will know what is value buying. Unless we roam around and see the quality and price we will not decide what to buy, with whom to buy and how much to buy. Just because we have money in our pockets we won't buy everything whatever we see. For example , when we feel Tomatoes are best with seller 1, we negotiate for the lowest price we heard with seller 4. We don't buy with seller 4 as the quality was poor also we don't know him personally. In share market we can't negotiate for the price which is not under our control ,which is not one to one negotiation. But we can wait n predict based on previous graph. Wait till that particular stock comes to "value buying price "which we decide by research.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK_rJB1yww2M-VklYml_ObpJw4SqJ0lFR_dkZSbDan7oGsEPN9PgZ7eb6VhOqYIn18lepa986BrrGY5lQQljDzdNV8Him8nDMATxdshskNyVS_g6cpGtt-xsV71nlvup9lAl9j3UPJwHyq/s1600/tomato.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="345" data-original-width="1065" height="128" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK_rJB1yww2M-VklYml_ObpJw4SqJ0lFR_dkZSbDan7oGsEPN9PgZ7eb6VhOqYIn18lepa986BrrGY5lQQljDzdNV8Him8nDMATxdshskNyVS_g6cpGtt-xsV71nlvup9lAl9j3UPJwHyq/s400/tomato.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Rotten Tomato is always cheaper but has no value</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
What happens when we buy with seller 4 is we will end up paying hard earned money which is not worth. And we will have to regret later. Half of what we have got will be rotten on the way remaining half by next day morning. Even before we know , we will be at 100% loss. Same way if we buy a stock available at cheaper price even though the best were available for a little higher price, stock price may start falling immediately after we have got. We will panic as the application we use start showing alerts that "only sellers no buyers on NSE or BSE". Just because we made a wrong decision doesn't mean some one else will buy when we would like to sell.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtlpuxKm8vTj-QI9bs9iWCUCO9HGixmvF-UwG8vFb4Xm8Godk_fBkmaXqMk3PHoj8VY5dgSA7qk4Ge4GtyKBmvqMQxa_A7rxaFnbEq8SNm4qK6W_jJrDMsPEo3-ouOSEG3lmhEiPDttovq/s1600/stocks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="276" data-original-width="1144" height="96" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtlpuxKm8vTj-QI9bs9iWCUCO9HGixmvF-UwG8vFb4Xm8Godk_fBkmaXqMk3PHoj8VY5dgSA7qk4Ge4GtyKBmvqMQxa_A7rxaFnbEq8SNm4qK6W_jJrDMsPEo3-ouOSEG3lmhEiPDttovq/s400/stocks.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A bullish stock and a falling knife</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
So better to think before we buy. A rare material with lesser competitors available for a higher price if we are very sure that the price will not go down even after years we can buy as we know with our previous experience the price has kept on increasing ,same pattern will continue in future then this is the best time to buy. As we have to pay more tomorrow for the same quantity.<br />
A rare material is available for higher price with one or two sellers and we need it badly, then we go for it. Based on our previous experience price of the same material have kept on increasing. And will increase in the future too. Then this is the right time to buy if not have to pay more tomorrow for the same quantity.<br />
<br />
A decision made at a right time leads us to profit. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Just an insurance or term insurance plus mutual fund?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<i>If you are asking whether investing in the insurance policies is profitable, you are at the right page. The powerful combination of a life insurance policy and a mutual fund is explained here.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
The job of the insurance companies is to cover the risk of the insurance buyers. A policy holder buys the risk coverage at certain charge called premium. This is the simple transaction and calculation if it happens only in this way. But, we never want to lose money, we don't want to spend our earnings for buying policies to cover our risks. We think this expense is a waste of money. There is no argument on the requirement of insurance. The majority of the Indians are not having insurance cover, even if they have it is not adequate. Life insurance companies give investment plans to attract the customers. They lure the customers by saying they will give handsome returns on their investment along with the insurance coverage. This is the most stupid argument that most of the times would be able to convince the prospective buyer. The buyer would be in loss thinking he is making a profit.<br />
<br /></div>
The return on the insurance policies is not attractive. This is due to the taxes, various charges including mortality charges, commissions etc deducted on the premium paid. The amount available for investment would be very less. Ultimately, the return on investment will be lesser when compared to any other investment opportunities including bank FDs.<br />
<br />
I have prepared a live example to prove my case. Remember, nobody can exactly tell how much return one will get in an insurance policy or a mutual fund. The calculations are based on historical data. I have taken the best returns for the insurance product and a poor or below average returns for my method of combination of a term insurance and a mutual fund. This is just to prove even if you had selected the costlier and lesser returns products in my method you should be the winner.<br />
<br />
<h3>
CASE 1: Only LIC</h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
Let us calculate the returns of a simple endowment plan Table No 0814 of LIC of India. I have considered a sum assured of Rs 25,00,000 with a term of 30 years for a person aged 30 years so that he/she is covered for life risk through out an important period of life and get the maturity benefit at the standard retirement age of 60. The annual premium for this policy is Rs 78571.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB_gNEylk2RUoeb07D8R7VomOhMsR6lUdFchn3iZYzASZ3XwMqlyiiefKXiB99IkeGqV51bgyuLXqJBu-zRYFm5h8-BHv1fW7p5QPLLfgN4fq_ocTdx5MJNqo2Of8thTXdM91Wf-khb9dc/s1600/endowment+plan.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="737" data-original-width="816" height="361" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB_gNEylk2RUoeb07D8R7VomOhMsR6lUdFchn3iZYzASZ3XwMqlyiiefKXiB99IkeGqV51bgyuLXqJBu-zRYFm5h8-BHv1fW7p5QPLLfgN4fq_ocTdx5MJNqo2Of8thTXdM91Wf-khb9dc/s400/endowment+plan.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Endowment plan premium calculation. Screen shot of LIC of India website</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Let us calculate the expected returns. The returns on this policy include the annual bonus + terminal bonus + sum assured. The bonus is given on the total sum assured of your policy. You can view the bonus rates at <a href="http://www.licindia.in/Customer-Services/Bonus-Information">LIC website</a>. The bonus rate per Rs 1000 sum assured usually ranges from Rs 30 to Rs 50. Even though LIC has not given Rs 50 per Rs 1000 sum assured bonus for this product, I will consider it for the calculation purpose. You can check <a href="https://www.basunivesh.com/2016/01/19/video-tutor-how-to-calculate-lic-policies-maturity-amount-and-returns/">basunivesh website</a> to know how to calculate the returns on an LIC policy.<br />
<br />
Bonus per year at the rate of Rs 50 per Rs 1000 sum assured is Rs 1,25,000<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<u>Total bonus for 30 years is Rs 37,50,000</u></div>
Assuming terminal bonus at Rs 100 per Rs 1000 sum assured is Rs 2,50,000<br />
<u>Total terminal bonus is Rs 2,50,000</u><br />
<u>Sum assured is Rs 25,00,000</u><br />
<u>Total of bonus+ terminal bonus + sum assured = <b>Rs 70,00,000</b></u><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
IRR for this investment is 6.00%</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You had paid Rs 78571 per annum to get a life risk cover of Rs 25,00,000/- for 30 years and a lump sum of Rs 70,00,000 after 30 years.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
CASE 2: LIC with Mutual Fund</h3>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now, instead of hiring an LIC agent for both the risk coverage and investment, let us give the task of risk cover that is insurance to LIC agent and investment task to UTI mutual fund advisor.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Term plan premium calculation. Screen shot of LIC of India website</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As per LIC website we need to pay Rs 5,812 every year for 30 years to get an e-term life insurance of Rs 25,00,000 for 30 years. This policy is available only online. As your far relative, LIC agent uncle is behind you for a policy, let us consider a policy available with them. The premium for this policy if we take from an agent becomes Rs 6,878. This is a non-refundable premium and is an expense for you.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We wasted (!?) Rs 6,878 out of the total amount of Rs 78,571 and left with Rs 71,693 for investment. Keep this amount in your savings account, as this is the least unproductive financial plan you can do. If we divide this left out amount by 12 months, it comes to Rs 5,974. I take Rs 6,000 a month to simplify the calculation leaving the saving bank interest added to it for spending on your own discretion.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
What to do with the Rs 6,000 a month? Do mutual funds SIP.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
UTI is the first to start mutual funds just like LIC in insurance. I consider a tax saver of UTI mutual fund even though it is an underperformer. It also gives income tax benefit like insurance. The returns are also not taxable under the present tax law. The least return it had given is CAGR of 9% in last 10 years. Some of the debt funds have done better than this with low risk. Let us see what happens when you select this just two starred low performer for your investment.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
OMG!! You get Rs 1,10,66,844!!</div>

This is a message I had received recently. My inbox gets at least two or three such messages every day. The above message from AM-KARVYS which looks like it is sent from Karvy. Karvy is one of the top financial services company in India and they never send such messages. After all, why should they send me such messages when I have no relationship with them? The message is sent by someone else. That someone else is called a market operator. They manipulate the stock price by spreading such SMS or fake good news about a stock and make the innocent investors buy such stocks. The people having some vested interests stay behind the screen and operate the stock price through such operators.<br />
<br />
<b>Pump and Dump:</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHy9Iyha8Pkcj7IyoSlWdbvP1-lae9umZzVs0rRO8wd7OWo6VE74DS7yCXShl1EazMMNO16EQyMt3YC2IRsC6K2WaX0CSOoGmCzU2z2yPQ5IeHMDYgH_yo5vURQIpJ6hqb0t0uR4-rsxsw/s1600/pump+dump.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="387" data-original-width="695" height="178" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHy9Iyha8Pkcj7IyoSlWdbvP1-lae9umZzVs0rRO8wd7OWo6VE74DS7yCXShl1EazMMNO16EQyMt3YC2IRsC6K2WaX0CSOoGmCzU2z2yPQ5IeHMDYgH_yo5vURQIpJ6hqb0t0uR4-rsxsw/s320/pump+dump.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<b><br /></b>
Pump and dump work in favour of promoters or shareholders. They just want to dump the stock at a good price. They hire the operators and pay them for pumping the stock price upward. There could be bigger agenda like money laundering, tax invading etc. The operators spread SMS like above, sometimes with false news of big orders, merger, takeovers etc. The innocent investors fall prey to them and buy the stock. The stock gets locked in upper circuits as the demand gets created and no one is selling. When the stock reaches the required level the promoters or shareholders start dumping the stock and exit with a huge profit. The innocent investors will be in loss and they can not even sell the stock as it locks in lower circuits every day. Their money gets stuck in that stock. If you receive an advice to buy a stock over SMS or social media from unknown resources, that could be to trap you. Never ever think of investing in such stocks.<br />

Share this post and spread the awareness. Awareness spreads slower than traps. It needs your help.<br />

On 22nd June 2017 both BSE Sensex and NIFTY 50 formed the shooting star. Thus the long waited market correction seem to be in very near future. Many analysts are of the same opinion.<br />

<h4 style="text-align: left;">
What is a shooting star?</h4>
Shooting star candle stick pattern happens when the bulls push the market up from the opening price and fail to sustain against the pressure of bears. The market comes back near to the opening price and closes with a little loss. This happens when the bears have upper hand than the bulls. A shooting star candle stick will have a long upper wick, small lower body, small or no lower wick. If such a candle occurs in a bull market, it is called as shooting star, if the same happens in a bear market then it is called as inverted hammer. They reverse the matket trend. A shooting star seems to have occurred with Nifty 50 and BSE sensex on 22nd June, making the analysts to believe the beginning of near term correction phase. This is confirmed with another long bearish candle on the next day, 23rd June 2017.<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
What should an investor do?</h4>
Indian stock market is bullish in long term. Every such small corrections need to be utilised to buy the value stocks. Keep the cash ready and invest in fundamentally strong stocks to get multibagger returns. One can also make use of the market corrections to invest in mutual funds.<br />
<br />
<i>The formation of shooting stars does not guarantee the bearish market. The opinion of the analysts could be wrong. Do your own study, consult your advisors before taking calls. </i></div>

6 June 2017: The market is expected to give opportunities for fresh buying of stocks. The two big things, though in the long run, not of much importance, are expected to bring some corrections in the Indian stock market.<br />
<br />
1. <b>RBI's monetary policy review</b>:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs6g7Jps_TjMXzgXR6xMXNUOE3mj6xeIqSEUDaJ6esgZCsSXWwv6zWqB3Sco08ZUde0sCO39xY6HdplVfUTy-cpKyk219XnTQZ3ASVxYEYBQBpbcuoFj4iy-TZ9MySNbBJGtbHc4zQsuV7/s1600/rbi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="384" data-original-width="615" height="199" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs6g7Jps_TjMXzgXR6xMXNUOE3mj6xeIqSEUDaJ6esgZCsSXWwv6zWqB3Sco08ZUde0sCO39xY6HdplVfUTy-cpKyk219XnTQZ3ASVxYEYBQBpbcuoFj4iy-TZ9MySNbBJGtbHc4zQsuV7/s320/rbi.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The monetary policy committee headed by RBI governor Urjit Patel began the meeting today. The outcome is expected to be released tomorrow afternoon. The market is expecting the rate cut, but the experts are saying that the RBI is unlikely to cut the key interest rate. RBI might wait for another bimonthly monetary policy review to gauge the impact of GST roll out on inflation before taking the decision on the key rates. In that scenario, the market is expected to see some profit bookings and give an opportunity for fresh buys. This impact will not last for long and market is expected to turn bullish again.<br />
<br />
2. <b>UK Election Result: </b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiONaNihmoPRXSXv4kzPuyA-zDf0YPKe673xdMny56d3LA-8eT2ce4YtnsDQ-zZilOy3u4cXwHSStBJVsjDv61ByAvB-uSrk6sB2bw1SCJR1Os3Io9hD_YdnwDFtzuHwneJAC4HSLThAbe7/s1600/briton+guards.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="286" data-original-width="468" height="195" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiONaNihmoPRXSXv4kzPuyA-zDf0YPKe673xdMny56d3LA-8eT2ce4YtnsDQ-zZilOy3u4cXwHSStBJVsjDv61ByAvB-uSrk6sB2bw1SCJR1Os3Io9hD_YdnwDFtzuHwneJAC4HSLThAbe7/s320/briton+guards.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
News like what Trump says, who wins in France, which rocket does North Korea launch are immaterial to the Indian economy and its stock market. This news can bring small changes and give some opportunities to buy in a bullish market. UK election result is expected on 08 June 2017 and could have little impact on the market on 08th and 09th June. Those who have missed the bullish run these days can use this opportunity to buy.<br />

<i>(This is neither a stock advice nor a research report. Readers are requested to do their own research or consult an adviser before investing).</i><br />
05 June 2017: Few stocks moving more than 10 to 15% in a day is not a rare event in the stock market. There could be many stocks went up by 10 to 20% today. But these two stocks, Titan Company and Swelect Energy caught my attention, as I was watching them since few days.<br />
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<b>Titan Company</b></h3>
Titan, a Bangalore-headquartered, a joint venture of Tata Industries with the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) is well-known for Tanishq Jewellery, Titan Eyeplus eyewear, SKINN fragrance, Titan, Sonata and Fastrack watches, Fastrack accessories and Fastrack smart watches. Today, the prices of the stock went up by INR 79.75 (16.91%). This is majorly due to the GST rates of 3% on gold.<br />

Brokerage CLSA upgraded Titan Company, Rakesh Junjhunwala’s favourite stock to ‘buy’. Rakesh Junjhunwala holds 752.07 lakhs of shares of the company as in April 2017. Titan is presently paying a 2 percent in total indirect taxes on Jewellery, which include 1 per cent in excise duty and 1 per cent VAT. What is the plus point of 3% of GST then? The jewellery company can get input tax credit and effective tax could become less than 3% which is the lowest tax bracket under GST.<br />
<br />
Though the company’s price to book value is higher at 11.71 and PE of 64.17, the promoter’s holding of 53.05% is a plus point. The today’s delivery quantity is just 16% against the 8 days average delivery quantity of 48%. NSE website says “The higher the Percent of Deliverable Quantity to Traded Quantity the better - it indicates that most buyers are expecting the price of the share to go up”. This is not seen in Titan Company today.<br />

<b style="text-align: center;">Swelect Energy Systems</b></h3>
Swelect Energy Systems, formerly Numeric Power Systems Ltd (You might have heard Numeric UPS but not Swelect) was locked in 20% upper circuit on 26th May due to the good Q4 result.<br />

ELSS Mutual Funds are meant for the purpose of tax saving. They have a lock in period of 3 years. So you can't redeem the amount for a period of three years from the date of investment. Dividend reinvestment is also considered as a fresh investment in the fund. Every dividend amount that is invested back into a fund is redeemable only after three years in the case of ELSS.<br />

Suppose if you have invested some amount in DSP Blackrock Tax Saver Fund in 2010, you can redeem those initial units purchased after 3 years. The dividend reinvested in 2011 would be available only in 2014. Even after you redeem your initial units the dividend reinvested will give dividends in 2013 and are reinvested again to make available to redeem only in 2016. This continues to infinity. You would never be able to redeem your entire investment if you opt for dividend reinvestment in case of ELSS funds.</div>
